Wildcats Race to Victory at Bull Run Park
The CVHS cross country freshman team won at the PR Invitationals on Sept. 1st.
The cross country team opened their season with a spirited victory in the PR Invitationals at on Friday, September 1st.
During the meet, sponsored by the Potomac River Running Store, the Wildcats’ freshmen boys team won their 2 mile race, while five other runners medaled in their respective races’ top 15 finishers. Athletes of the Week, awarded to a boy and girl for their efforts by Coach Kelley Devlin, were sophomore Kylie Cuomo and freshman Carson McEver.
Top five girls runners so far this season are junior Rebecca Vinter, freshman Jackie O’Shea, junior Joanna Ahn, and sophomores Kylie Cuomo and Leilani Boren. Top five boys runners are senior Chris Jones, junior Kip Talman, senior Gabriel Rushin, freshman Bobby Dunn and senior Daniel Molina.
