• Korean beef soup restaurant headed to Chantilly (theburn.com) — Chantilly food lovers can look forward to Yi's Traditional Korean Beef Soup opening soon at 14200 Sullyfield Circle, just south of Route 50. The growing chain, which already has a Centreville location, will offer several Korean soups plus dishes like seafood scallion pancakes and kimchi, with the dining room nearly finished as they await a confirmed opening date.

• DEVELOPING: Teen hit in crash at South Lakes HS, as criticism of crossing guard changes mounts (ffxnow.com) — A Fairfax County teen was hit by a car near South Lakes High School, intensifying criticism of the county's decision to cut police crossing guards at 11 high schools, including Chantilly. Local and state officials are now pressing the Board of Supervisors to restore funding, with about $400,000 in carryover money potentially earmarked to bring back high school crossing guards.
