Woman Fined $81K for Ignoring Tolls on Dulles Toll Road

Ignoring tolls can be extremely costly. A Fairfax County woman, Sara Hagarty, was fined more than $81,000 for $236 in unpaid tolls, WTOP reported. While both the United States and the Virginia constitutions prohibit excessive fines, a Fairfax County Circuit Court judge ruled that the penalties for the unpaid tolls on the Dulles Toll Road do not represent an unconstitutional burden. >>> Read more.

Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting: Officer, Driver Identified

Fredericksburg Police has identified the officer and subject involved in a fatal shooting by the officer following a traffic stop Tuesday. Christopher Brossmer, 31, has been with the department since July 2013. A patrol officer, Brossmer was placed on paid administrative leave following the shooting. >>> Read more.
