1 Dead, 1 Injured In Alexandria Shooting Likely Tied To Carjacking
Police believe the Richmond Highway shooting is tied to a carjacking involving five people.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Police are investigating a shooting that killed one and injured another Friday.
The shooting happened around 2:57 p.m. in the 2300 block of Richmond Highway. Police found one man dead and another in serious condition with a gunshot wound. One of the victims was taken to the hospital, according to an initial scanner report. Police do not believe the shooting poses a threat to the public.
Initial investigations show the incident likely began as a carjacking. NBC Washington reported a driver shot two people who tried to carjack the driver. Police have accounted for all five people involved in the carjacking.
