$2 Million Raised For Spring2ACTion Sets Record In Alexandria

Alexandria donors raised more than ever for local nonprofits during Wednesday's day of giving.

Alexandria's Spring2ACTion day of giving set another new record on Wednesday, April 10. Donors raised $2,047,481 for 162 Alexandria nonprofits. That's an increase of $278,980 from 2018.

9,541 donors contributed to a variety of causes from health and wellness to food and shelter, arts and music, schools and PTAs, children and families, veteran's programs, and animal rescue. In addition, businesses offered incentives to anyone who donated.

Some nonprofits received additional money prizes through random drawings and reaching fundraising milestones. RunningBrooke, a group that helps keep at-risk kids physically active, raised the most money of any group—$125,692. The Alexandria Soccer Association scored the most donors—743.
