Alexandria Man Wins $100K Top Prize For Lottery Ticket

The man surprised his wife with the top prize when she got home from work.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Jose Navarrete had a surprise waiting for his wife when she got home from work. It turns out he won a $100,000 top prize in a lottery ticket bought after dropping her off at work.

The Alexandria man called his wife when his 10X the Money ticket won, but didn't tell her the good news right away. When he showed her the winning ticket at home, she couldn't believe it.

Navarrete is the sixth person to claim the top $100,000 prize for 10X the Money. One top prize remains unclaimed. The chances of winning the top prize are 1 in 1,049,143, while there's a 1 in 4.28 of winning any prize.

Navarrete bought his winning ticket at a 7-Eleven, 17 South Carlin Spring Drive in Arlington. He plans to use some winnings for home repairs and save the rest for retirement.
