The Alexandria Police Department is investigating several burglaries that occurred in the 1100 block of Colonial Avenue this morning, according to a news release from police.Around 8:49 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a residence for the report of a breaking and entering, police said. Police found several other area residences had also been entered. Patrol officers arrested Tonny Anthony Pitt, 29, of Washington D.C., at the scene. He was charged with Burglary and Possession of Burglarious Tools. More charges may be pending as the investigation continues, police said.Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call Detective Michael Rodriguez of the Criminal Investigations Section at <a rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank" href>703.746.6165</a>.
