Alexandria Police Charge Man with First Degree Murder in Sunday Homicide

Police identify victim as Carolyn Cross, 64; she was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday morning.

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 4800 block of Kenmore Avenue that was discovered Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as Carolyn Cross, 64, of Alexandria. Around 8:12 a.m., officers responded to assist the Fire Department and medics. Upon arrival, they located the victim. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have charged Dawit Seyoum, 29, of Alexandria, with First Degree Murder.

This is the fourth homicide in Alexandria in 2014.
