All Lanes on I-395 at Seminary to Close During Bridge Demolition
VDOT says detours and time frames are set up this week for action on bridge demolition.

Each night this week, from Monday, August 17 to Friday, Aug. 21, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close all lanes on I-395 South at Seminary Road for bridge demolition, according to a news release today from VDOT.
Motorists traveling southbound on I-395 will be detoured onto the Seminary Road West exit ramp (Exit 4), through the rotary, and back to I-395 South during the closures, according to VDOT.
Lanes will begin closing each night at 9:30 p.m., with all lanes closing at approximately 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the next morning.

Advance message signs will be posted to alert motorists to the temporary traffic configuration and the Virginia State Police will be on site for traffic management. This work is weather dependent.
The reconstructed Seminary Road bridge is part of a project that includes the auxiliary lane on northbound I-395 between Duke Street and Seminary Road that opened in early February, a new pedestrian bridge over I-395, and a new I-395 high occupancy vehicle (HOV) ramp to Seminary Road.
