"ALTARS: Religious Rituals" Art Exhibit
The exhibit runs September 4-27, 2015 at Del Ray Artisans gallery.
ALTARS: Religious Rituals art exhibit opens on Friday, September 4 and runs through September 27, 2015 at Del Ray Artisans gallery in Alexandria. Del Ray Artisans and Art Latin American Collective Project teamed up to create this collaborative exhibit that symbolizes—literally and figuratively—the use of altars in religious rituals worldwide. The exhibit features artwork from the members of both organizations and calls to mind altars, which vary from places of heavenly worship to nether worldly sacrifice, from simple raised platforms to elaborate structures.
Curators John Bordner of Del Ray Artisans and David Camero of Art Latin American Collective Project invite you to attend the opening reception on Friday, September 4 from 7 to 9pm at Del Ray Artisans gallery. Please join us to celebrate this exhibit’s unique interpretations of “altars” in 2- and 3-D media of all kinds.
