Art and Story, a Del Ray Artisans Art Exhibit at the Shirlington Public Library

Show Dates: October 5 – November 30, 2014
Show Location: 4200 Campbell Ave, Arlington VA 22206

Alexandria, VA (released: September 25, 2014) – “Art and Story,” an art exhibit at the Shirlington branch of the Arlington Public Library, opens on Sunday, October 5. This fund-raising exhibit is part of the Del Ray Artisans’ Gallery Without Walls program in partnership with the library. A portion of each sale will be donated to Del Ray Artisans and the Friends of Shirlington Library. The power of art and story is universal. A good story or other form of literature can spark the imagination and inspire artists to create meaningful work. Behind every piece of art is a story – whether borne of the artist’s experience or their interpretation of social or cultural events. The works in this show demonstrate a wide assortment of media types and draw from a variety of subject matter, while each piece depicts a story in some way. The exhibit runs from October 5 through November 30, 2014. To view the art, visit the Shirlington Library during library hours: Sunday and Tuesday 1 to 9 p.m., Monday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is located at 4200 Campbell Ave, Arlington, VA 22206.For more information, please visit www.TheDelRayArtisans.org/shows/gww/ or email Gallery Without Walls curator Eileen O’Brien at GWW@TheDelRayArtisans.org.
