“Art and Story,” an art exhibit at the Shirlington branch of the Arlington Public Library, opens on Sunday, March 29 featuring the artwork of Del Ray Artisans members. This fundraising exhibit is part of the Del Ray Artisans’ Gallery Without Walls program in partnership with the library. A portion of each sale will be donated to Del Ray Artisans and the Friends of Shirlington Library.
The power of art and story is universal. A good story or other form of literature can spark the imagination and inspire artists to create meaningful work. Behind every piece of art is a story – whether borne of the artist’s experience or their interpretation of social or cultural events. The works in this show demonstrate a wide assortment of media types and draw from a variety of subject matter, while each piece depicts a story in some way.
The exhibit runs from March 29 through April 26, 2015. To view the art, visit the Shirlington Library during library hours: Sunday and Tuesday 1-9pm, Monday and Wednesday 10am-9pm, Thursday 10am-6pm, and Friday and Saturday 10am-5pm. The library is located at 4200 Campbell Avenue, Arlington, VA 22206.
