Cat Adoption Fees Waived To Help Hurricane Florence Pets
Adopting a cat means the Alexandria shelter can make more room for pets from the Carolinas during Hurricane Florence.

Adoption fees for adult cats are being waived at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria to make room for pets during Hurricane Florence.
Any cat over 6 months old has no adoption fees from Thursday, Sept. 13 through Sunday, Sept. 16. Every adoption means there's one more spot for pets in shelters affected by the hurricane in North and South Carolina. Shelters accepting these pets work to reconnect the pets with their owners after the storm.
Patch regularly shares AWLA pets looking for new families. Our featured pet this week is Smokie, a gorgeous Norwegian Forest Cat. His adoption fees are already paid.

Smokie - Norwegian Forest Cat, Neutered Male, Senior
Just look at that majestic coat and sturdy physique! This handsome guy is a homebody that enjoys lap time, on his own terms, of course. He loves perches and pets but nothing comes near his passion for treats.See Smokie's full profile here and find out about the adoption process here.
