Come Out for Crawfish at Neighborhood Block Party

A local restaurant is hosting an outdoor summer gathering on Saturday afternoon.

Release: Evening Star Cafe

To us, nothing says summertime like a neighborhood block party full of family and friends, kicking back with a big ol' pile of crawfish and a few crushable summer sippers. We hope you feel the same and will join us for the triumphant return of a great Evening Star summer tradition as we host the Lowcountry Crawfish Boil & Outdoor Block Party.

The block party takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the front porch and back lot of the Evening Star Cafe, at 2000 Mount Vernon Ave. in Del Ray. Admission is free - for more information, check out the Evening Star's Facebook page.

For this special occasion, Chef Keith has put together a truly tempting, Southern-inspired menu including the Lowcountry Crawfish Boil with fresh Louisiana crawfish and corn on the cob, Pulled Pork Hash, Chive Biscuits, Potato Salad, Grilled Vegetables, Strawberry Shortcake and more.

While summer rose and the dangerously delicious Bourbon Slushies will be flowing, beer guru Greg Engert has chosen a few special selections from our favorite Southern craft brewers with Fullsteam Paycheck Pilsner, Port City Optimal Wit, CigarCity Jai Ala IPA and Terrapin Hi-5 IPA on tap. And live music from Joe Chiocca will keep the party going all afternoon long.
