Community Baby Shower Held For Expectant Mothers In Alexandria
The Community Baby Shower at Casa Chirilagua provided expectant mothers with resources and baby supplies.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Expectant mothers together celebrated their forthcoming bundles of job at Alexandria's first-ever Community Baby Shower in May.
The event was held May 6 at Casa Chirilagua. Around 25 moms-to-be who have due dates before July 15, 2022 attended, learning about local resources for parents with young children from various organizations in Alexandria. Along with information on local resources, attendees left the event with a goodie bag of baby supplies.
Partners and exhibitors at the event included the Alexandria Health Department and its Baby Care Program, Alexandria Parent Infant Education Program, Anthem Health Keepers, Campagna Center, Center for Alexandria’s Children, the Department of Community and Human Services’ Early Childhood Services, Inova’s Partnership for Healthier Families, Kids’ First Years, Neighborhood Health and Northern Virginia Family Services and Healthy Families Alexandria.

The event was hosted by and hosted by Kids’ First Years, an initiative aiming to be a collective voice for organizations that serve the city's young children and their families. The organization seeks to make high quality early care and education accessible to all Alexandria children.
