The Dairy Godmother Returns, After Annual Winter Hiatus

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Been craving some frozen custard? Your wait is over. A neighborhood institution reopens its doors Thursday: The Dairy Godmother in Del Ray is back, after an annual winter hiatus.

The doors will reopen at noon Thursday, with the flavor of the day, Thin Mint Cookie. Added bonus: Girl Scouts in uniform will score a freebie. Vanilla and chocolate frozen custard are (always) also available.

The Dairy Godmother, located at 2310 Mount Vernon Ave., will also be open on Monday, from 12 noon to 9 p.m., on the President’s Day holiday, serving up a nod to George Washington, with “Cherry Tree.”
