DC, NoVA Weekend Events: Capital Barbecue Battle, Folklife Festival

The weekend brings a sold-out fireworks event, Pride festivals, Astronomy Festival, a carnival and much more to the DC region.

WASHINGTON, DC — There's one more weekend in June before July arrives and brings Fourth of July festivities.

Festivities will start early at George Washington's Mount Vernon. The sold-out Independence Fireworks will be held Friday and Saturday for those who were able to secure tickets.

Other notable weekend events planned in Northern Virginia and DC include the 30th Annual Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, One Loudoun Carnival at Uptown, Reston Summerfest, DC Black Food & Wine Festival, Benefit Concert for Ukrainian Refugees, Loudoun Pride Festival, Astronomy Festival on the National Mall and more.
