A Del Ray Pizzeria Is Close To Becoming Best Slice In Northern Virginia
Do you think Lena's in Del Ray is the best pizza in the area? It's one of four finalists in Northern Virginia Magazine's contest.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—It's no surprise that Del Ray is represented well in local food contests. Now there's another restaurant that locals can be proud of.
Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza and Tap is up for Northern Virginia Magazine's annual Slice Is Right. The magazine selected 32 popular local pizza spots to battle for the title of Best Pizza in Northern Virginia.
Lena's is a semifinalist, along with FireWorks Pizza (Arlington and Leesburg), Pomodoro (Fairfax) and Ciao Osteria (Centreville). Each day, two restaurant face off, and the public can vote from 9 a.m. to midnight. On Thursday, July 27, Lena's is competing against FireWorks Pizza.

Lena's opened in 2015 across from the Braddock Road Metro. Named after owner Jason Yates' mother Lena, the restaurant seeks to provide the family's vision of a neighborhood destination for the family. It's well known for its Neapolitan pizza and other delicacies like its giant meatballs.
