Del Ray's 'Courage Wall' Debuts on 'Today Show'

Inspired by the concept and writings on Del Ray’s “Courage Wall,” The Today Show brought the concept Thursday morning to the plaza outside the NBC program.

Resident Nancy Belmont, who erected the wall, was interviewed by host Matt Lauer on the program.

Describing herself as a leadership coach, she told him she was inspired to create the project to start “walking the talk.”

People were quickly filling in the Courage Wall set up outside The Today Show Thursday morning.

In Del Ray, people can stop by and, using a piece of chalk, write on a giant blackboard and finish the sentence: “I wish I had the courage to...”

So far, some of the (all anonymous) wishes include: ”I wish I had the courage to...”

  • “Take FMLA to get well again”
  • “Share my faith in Jesus”
  • “Love myself”
  • “Learn how to play an instrument”
