Del Ray's Dairy Godmother Celebrates 14 Years in Business
"As we enter our fifteenth year, I hope to make it our best in every way. I could not have done it without you." -- Liz Davis
Happy Anniversary to one of Del Ray’s greatest treasures, The Dairy Godmother frozen custard shop, celebrating 14 years in business Thursday.
The independent shop — with its frozen custard treats inspired by those in owner Liz Davis’ native Wisconsin — and homey atmosphere, featuring treats for dogs, puzzles and T-shirts, is a natural gathering place for the tight-knit community. But it also attracts plenty of curious customers from outside Del Ray.
President Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia stopped in for some frozen custard on Father’s Day in 2009.
