The Derds - Del Ray's House Band Returns to Evening Star Cafe

Del Ray’s house band The Derds return to the Evening Star Cafe #9 Lounge 18 February 2016 for an evening of high-energy rock & roll. Formed in 2013, the individual Derds live within walking distance of Mt. Vernon Avenue and hone their skills at Rock of Ages Music and feature the Del Ray life in their original songs. In 2014 they were featured on the main stage at Del Ray’s Art on the Avenue for an hour of up-against-the-wall rock and roll.

The Derds playlist draws from every decade of rock, American roots, blues, C&W, and alt rock. A Derd show delivers the hits you know with original arrangements that sometimes feature a cross-cut saw! Audience-friendly and welcoming, The Derds engage with the crowd and respond with improv jams or new songs put together on the spot. It’s not unusual for the band to pull someone up from the audience to sing back-up.
