Developer Close To Deal With Sears On Future Landmark Mall Plans
Howard Hughes Corporation is reportedly in talks to include the Sears in future development plans.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Plans are moving along for the redevelopment of the Landmark Mall, and those could include the Sears is still open at the shuttered mall.
The Howard Hughes Corporation is reportedly in talks to incorporate Sears into the redevelopment plans, Washington Business Journal reports. The mixed-use development approved by the city include an outdoor town center, retail and residential units.
A final master plan could be complete in spring 2019, leading to a possible construction start date in 2020.

Sears remains open while the mall itself is closed. Howard Hughes purchased the Macy's location and closed remaining mall stores in 2017.
The Landmark Mall was recently a site for "Wonder Woman 1984" filming. Meanwhile Carpenter's Shelter has temporarily moved to the mall as it renovates its own home. The Carpenter's Shelter lease expires in 2019 and isn't expected to interfere with the mall's redevelopment.
