First Thursday will feature a dunk tank with Mayor Justin Wilson, a Dominion Energy official and more.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — If you've always wanted to dunk local figures in Alexandria, here's your chance.
First Thursday, a monthly street festival in Del Ray, returns Thursday, June 1 from 6 p.m. to dusk with a dunk tank at Pat Miller Square (Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues). The theme of the event is "First Thursday: Baseball – Every Pitch Counts."
As part of the baseball theming, attendees can attempt throws at the dunk tank featuring Mayor Justin Wilson, former Sheriff Dana Lawhorne, ALXNOW reporter James Cullum, and Dominion Energy's Scott Price.

The cost to participate is $5 for three throws, or $10 for an Alexandria Aces player to make the throw for you. Given the Alexandria Aces were the 2022 Cal Ripken Summer League Champions, getting their players to make the throw for you is a wise choice.
Everyone who participates gets a free ticket to an Alexandria Aces home game.

First Thursday typically benefits a different nonprofit each month. Alexandria Aces, a summer baseball team for collegiate baseball players, will benefit from the First Thursday dunk tank fundraiser. The league seeks to help players reach their dreams of professional careers, as Major League scouts may attend games. The team's home field is Frank Mann Field at Four Mile Run Park.
The event, held by the Del Ray Business Association and sponsored by Ting of Alexandria, will also feature live music.
