Virginia culinary stars were feted over the weekend at the annual RAMMYS awards -- the DC metro area’s Oscars for the area restaurant scene.
At the top of the heap was Evan Labb, who took home “Restaurant Employee of the Year.” Labb works at Evening Star Cafe in Del Ray.The restaurant is located at 2000 Mount Vernon Ave.

- Restaurant Employee of the Year: Evan Labb, Evening Star Cafe (Del Ray)
- Rising Culinary Star of the Year: George Pagonis, Kapnos (Pagonis also runs Arlington’s Kapnos Taverna)
- Regional Food and Beverage Producer of the Year: Catoctin Creek Distilling Co. (Purcellville)
- Everyday Casual Restaurant: DGS Delicatessen (a location is coming soon to Mosaic)
Formal Fine Dining Restaurant: The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm (Lovettsville) - Restaurateur of the Year: Jose Andres and Rob Wilder, ThinkFoodGroup (America Eats is in Tysons; Jaleo is in Crystal City)
- Chef of the Year: Victor Albisu, Taco Bamba (Falls Church)
