First Alexandria Mayor's Debate To Be Held In Del Ray

Mayor Allison Silberberg and Vice Mayor Justin Wilson will debate ahead of the June primary election.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—The first debate of the mayoral primary election in Alexandria will take place Wednesday, May 2 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Mt. Vernon Community School Auditorium, 2601 Commonwealth Avenue. The candidates, Mayor Allison Silberberg and Vice Mayor Justin Wilson, have confirmed they will participate.

The debate will be hosted by the Del Ray Business Assocation and moderated by NBC News4 Northern Virginia Bureau Chief Julie Carey.

"We look forward to a robust, wide-ranging discussion of the issues affecting those who live, work, or own small businesses in Del Ray," said Del Ray Business Association President Sue Kovalsky. "There are few Alexandria residents who know the challenges facing our city and region better than Julie Carey. We're thrilled that she will lead this important debate."

The next debate is set for Monday, May 14, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. in the T.C. Williams High School auditorium, 3330 King Street. Both events are free and open to the public.
