Fourth Of July-Themed First Thursday Planned In Del Ray
The monthly street festival will support New Hope Housing to eliminate veteran homelessness in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Del Ray residents can keep the patriotic celebration going after Fourth of July with this month's First Thursday. The theme for the July 5 monthly street festival is "Red, White, and Blue."
The street festival will feature live music from Mars Rodeo, themed activities, and more at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square (Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues) The event is free and open to all and is held 6 p.m. to dusk.
Every month, the street festival benefits a different local cause. This month's nonprofit is New Hope Housing, part of a city effort to eliminate veteran homelessness in Alexandria. Participants can bring new single or queen size sheets,new towel sets, new pillows, cleaning supplies, or grocery gift cards (in $10-$25 increments). Donations can be dropped off at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square.

Held the first Thursday from April to September along Mount Vernon Avenue in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, First Thursday is a series of free outdoor street festivals that bring the community together around a fun theme, benefiting a local nonprofit.
