Glass workshops at Del Ray Artisans

Grown-Ups Art Camp offers over 30 workshops (day, night, weekday, weekend)—for anyone and everyone—scheduled from June 29 through July 17, 2015. Register for as many workshops as you want!

Three different glass workshops are being offered: “Making Glass Boxes”, “Building Glass (Gingerbread) Houses”, and “Stained Glass Pendant”. No previous experience necessary. The first two workshops offer pre-cut glass pieces for assembly; while the pendant workshop teaches you the basics of glass cutting. More information below on each workshop. Workshop: “Making Glass Boxes”
Date: Wednesday, July 8 from 1-4pm
Instructor: Betsy Mead
Workshop Fee: $45 Del Ray Artisans members / $55 non-members
Plus Supply Fee: $10
Class size: 6-12 participants

In this workshop, students learn to make a decorative glass box using cut glass pieces, glass paint, and glue.

Workshop: “Building Glass (Gingerbread) Houses”
Date: Wednesday, July 8 from 6-9pm
Instructor: Betsy Mead
Workshop Fee: $65 Del Ray Artisans members / $75 non-members
Plus Supply Fee: $10
Class size: 6-12 participants

Participants will use pre-cut glass pieces, decorative embellishments, glue, and caulk to construct and decorate “gingerbread” houses. The “hard work” of cutting the glass pieces is done by the instructor so that participants can enjoy the art of making, constructing, and decorating!

Workshop: “Stained Glass Pendant”
Date: Tuesday, July 14 from 2-5:30pm
Instructor: Kim Joy
Workshop Fee: $25 Del Ray Artisans members / $35 non-members
Plus Supply Fee: $20
Class size: 3-8 participants

Create little works of art using stained glass techniques. You will learn to cut, grind, layer, wrap with copper foil and solder pieces. The finished piece will be a reversible pendant. Supply kit provided includes glass, printed matter, copper foil, flux, solder, jump rings, and beads. Supplies from students: copies of photos or printed matter that can be sandwiched between 1” x 3” (or 2”) square pieces of clear glass. Tools available for use during class.
