The owner of and mastermind behind Julie’s Datery, Julie Reynes, has been busy expanding her Del Ray business.

Today she’ll be getting the word out by offering free samples of her pistachio orange and hazelnut chocolate stuffed dates at a “Meet the Locals” event at Dawson’s Market in Rockville.
The artisan grocer hosts its “Meet the Locals” series on a regular basis, inviting shoppers to sample cuisine, treats and goods produced by local vendors.

Stuffed dates from Julie’s Datery are one of several specialty items featured at the market this month. Other vendors participating in “Meet the Locals” in December include Trickling Springs Creamery, Me & 3 Bakery, Two Armadillos, Michele’s Granola and Ever Bar.
The Datery hand-stuffs California Medjool dates with natural ingredients like nuts, fruits and spices in its kitchen space in Del Ray. The brand debuted at the Old Town and Del Rey farmers’ markets in the summer. Customers can also purchase treats from Julie’s Datery through its online shop.
