Harris Teeter Will Reopen, but Date Unknown
S. Glebe Road grocery store has been closed since May 11.

The Harris Teeter on S. Glebe Road will reopen, but a spokesperson with the grocer said there is no confirmed date as to when the store will resume operations.
“When the store reopens, it will have all of the attributes of a new store,” Danna Jones of Harris Teeter wrote in an email to Patch. “Our goal is to continue to work hard to get this store open with an improved shopping experience for all of our customers. In the meanwhile, we apologize for what our customers have had to endure and encourage them to shop other Harris Teeter stores in the area.”
On May 11, the grocery store just north of Alexandria's border in Arlington County located at 3600 S. Glebe Rd. closed .

The flooding occurred after a suction line at the Potomac Yard lift station was clogged with rags and debris, according to Arlington County’s Environmental Services Department. The circumstances that created the flood were beyond the store's control, according to an automated phone message and email from Harris Teeter.
When the location closed, it was announced in an email to customers that the store would reopen only after a quality assurance team determines the cleanup meets the requirements of the company, the health department and other organizations.
