Helping Your Loved Ones throughout the Aging Process

Free one-hour educational seminar in Del Ray on Saturday, February 27 at 10 AM

Come learn more about Helping Your Loved Ones throughout the Aging Process at a free one-hour educational seminar in Del Ray on Saturday, February 27th at 10:00 AM. Over the holidays, you may have visited your parents or other elderly loved ones and come away with concerns about their health or the state of their home. Or you may have noticed that your elderly neighbor is not getting around easily. This seminar is designed to answer some commonly asked questions about helping your loved ones plan for and meet the challenges of aging.

The presenters include: Judith Grumbly, a geriatric care manager/nurse practitioner and the Executive Director of Care Options, a local care management practice; Rachel Baer, Esq., the managing attorney of a boutique estate planning and elder law practice in Del Ray; and Mary Anderson, the Executive Director of Senior Services of Alexandria.

During the presentation, the speakers will discuss topics such as: home safety; home care options; early symptoms of dementia; powers of attorney and advance directives; court-ordered guardianship; and who to call if you think an elderly person is unsafe or being exploited, as well as other resources available to Alexandria residents. At the end, there will be a brief Q&A time.
