Miracle League Sock Hop Set for Saturday
Organizers aiming to raise money for rubberized playing field for Alexandria's special needs population.

A bevy of local bands are lining up to play a sock hop this Saturday benefitting the , which strives to provide an accessible, fun and attractive environment for individuals with special needs to enjoy sports activities.
The Kate Moran Band, Irish Breakfast Band, Janna Audey, Mars Rodeo and Bill Mansfield are all signed up to perform starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at .
Tickets cost $25 for singles, $40 for couples and $50 per family and can be purchased at KelleyCares.org or at on Mt. Vernon Avenue.

Food at the dance will be provided by a multitude of local restaurants, including , , , , and others.
The event will also feature other entertainment and face painting.

All proceeds will benefit the Miracle League, which is raising funds to build a rubberized softball diamond so the city’s special needs population will have a safe place to play.
Organizers are aiming to raise $5,000 for the Miracle League in the name of Ryan Bailey, a Del Ray resident born with Down Syndrome who volunteers his time to assist at events in the neighborhood. In December, Bailey won a Star Award from the Del Ray Business Association for his work in the community.
