Mixed Media workshops to explore and inspire

Grown-Ups Art Camp offers over 30 workshops (day, night, weekday, weekend)—for anyone and everyone—scheduled from June 29 through July 17, 2015. Register for as many workshops as you want!

Four different mixed media workshops are being offered: “Masters-Inspired Mixed Media”, “First Thursday Mix Mash {event}”, “Dreams Set Sail”, and “Creating Texture With Tissue Paper”. More information below on each of these workshops.

Workshop: “Masters-Inspired Mixed Media”
Date: Tuesday, June 30 from 6-10pm
Instructor: Danielle Rush
Workshop Fee: $60 members / $70 non-members
Plus Supply Fee: $15
Class size: 3-10 participants

Students will recreate a work of art based on the style of Monet, Cezanne and Picasso using mixed-media techniques such as collage, acrylic & watercolor painting, pen & ink illustration, etc.

Event: “First Thursday Mix Mash”
Date: Thursday, July 2 from 6-9pm
Coordinator: Tracy Wilkerson
Workshop Fee: $20 Adults / $10 Kids under 13
Class size: 3-20 participants

(beginner / novice) Try your hand at creating a mixed media art piece! Visit the gallery during First Thursday, choose one of the provided supply kits, then sit down at a workstation and create something unique. Mixed media artists will be available for ideas, suggestions and questions.

While you are visiting the gallery, participate in our community collaborative art piece!

Workshop: “Dreams Set Sail”
Date: Sunday, July 5 from 6:30-9:30pm
Instructor: Jackie Tury
Workshop Fee: $45 members / $55 non-members
Plus Supply Fee: $15
Class size: 8-20 participants

Join us on a journey of self-discovery through art and the creative process. Participants will explore and express their dreams as they create beautiful sail boat scenes using mixed media collage techniques.

Workshop: “Creating Texture With Tissue Paper”
Date: Saturday, July 11 from 4-7pm
Instructor: Christine Stoddard
Workshop Fee: $50 members / $60 non-members
Plus Supply Fee: $10
Class size: 5-10 participants

Got tissue paper leftover from the holidays, birthday celebrations, and shopping sprees? Learn how to tear it, roll it, twist it, feather it, paint it, and otherwise manipulate it to create texture in mixed media pieces ranging from canvases to dioramas and small sculptures.
