More Chances Of Snow Coming Toward Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA—A chance of snow fell flat earlier this week, but Mother Nature is getting our hopes up again. Alexandria and the surrounding area face more possibilities of snowfall in the days ahead.

If you're hoping for more snow than we've gotten in other winter storms this month, don't get too excited. A storm headed our way Thursday night could just graze the DC region and drop up to an inch of snow on parts of Northern Virginia west of Interstate 95. In Alexandria, forecasters say rain could turn into snow as temperatures plummet from the 50s to the 30s and continue into early Friday morning. Any snowfall likely wouldn't stick, according to the National Weather Service.

Another chance could come as the Super Bowl is happening Sunday night, although forecasters from the Capital Weather Gang suggest the storm may be too far south and toward the coast. And so the curse of the DC "snow hole" would continue.

Here's a look at the forecast in the next few days in Alexandria:

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33

Thursday: A slight chance of showers after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52 and a 20 percent chance of precipitation.

Thursday Night: Rain likely before 4 a.m., then rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 33 and a 70 percent chance of precipitation. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Friday: Snow likely, mainly before 7 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 35 and 60 percent chance of precipitation.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Sunday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 42 and a 70 percent chance of precipitation.

Sunday Night: Rain and snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30 and a 60 percent chance of precipitation.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 41.
