Mother’s Day Museum Open Houses - May 14

Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum, 105-107 North Fairfax Street

Mothers and their families are admitted free at the Friendship Firehouse Museum on Mother’s Day. Pose alongside the historic equipment that fought fires in 19th-century Alexandria, and have your portrait taken by the firehouse photographer. Come learn about the suction pumper and other artifacts. Youngsters will receive a fire hat to take home. 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, please call 703-746-4994.

Mother’s Day Tea - May 14

Mother's Day Concert with Mother's Finest - May 14

Rock out to the 70s funk rock band Mother's Finest at the Birchmere from 7:30 p.m.-10 p.m. The band is a member of the George Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Members of the original lineup are Joyce "Baby Jean" Kennedy (vocals) Glenn "Doc" Murdock (vocals) Jerry "Wyzard" Seay (bass) and Gary "Moses Mo" Moore (guitar).
