Next First Thursday Street Festival Theme Is Dog Days In Del Ray
Del Ray's monthly street festival returns this Thursday for dogs and their humans.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — This Thursday's street festival in Del Ray is for the dogs, but their humans can tag along too.
First Thursday, a monthly street festival along Mount Vernon Avenue, will have a theme of "Dog Days in Del Ray" theme in May. The event will take place Thursday from 6 p.m. to dusk.
Pet owners and their furry friends can expect canine-themed activities for dogs and people. The event is free to attend.

Each First Thursday event benefits a different local nonprofit. May's featured nonprofit is the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, which shelters pets, coordinates adoptions and provides other animal services in the city. Attendees are encouraged to bring dry and wet food for dogs and cats to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. Donations will be collected at the Pat Miller Neighborhood Square at Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues.
First Thursday is held by the Del Ray Business Association on the first Thursday monthly April to September with a different theme each month. This month's event is sponsored by The Dog Store/Your Dog’s Best Friends.
