Nominees Sought For 2020 Heart Of Del Ray Award

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Del Ray Business Association is beginning the annual process of giving out the Heart of Del Ray awards. Nominations are sought for the 2020 award, given to the business that is seen as the "heart and soul of Del Ray."

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23. Five finalists will be announced on Feb. 3, and voting will take place from Feb. 3 to 12 at www.visitdelray.com.

According to the Del Ray Business Association, a nominated business "demonstrates a warm and welcoming attitude to the community and customers, their commitment and generosity to the community, and to their overall contribution to what makes Del Ray the best place in the world to eat, live, work and shop."

The winner is awarded a heart-shaped award to display in time for Valentine's Day. Last year's winner was Taqueria Poblano.

Businesses may only receive the Heart of Del Ray award once. Past winners are:

• 2017: Del Ray Cafe
• 2018: Pork Barrel BBQ
• 2019: Taqueria Poblano
