Pair Of Gas Station Robberies Under Investigation In Alexandria

Officers and a police helicopter responded to the second robbery Friday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria Police are investigating two gas station robberies in the same area Thursday and Friday. Officers were on the scene of the second robbery Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the 4600 block of Duke Street after a suspect "brandished a knife" and stole money from a gas station, police tweeted at 12:36 p.m. Friday. The Fairfax County Police helicopter is assisting Alexandria Police.

The other robbery happened in the same block before 7 p.m. Thursday. The suspect also had a knife and stole money from a gas station.

According to police, the robberies happened at different gas stations. There are Exxon and Shell gas stations across from each other in the 4600 block of Duke Street.

Police are investigating whether the same person is responsible for two robberies. Suspect descriptions have not been released.

No one was injured in either incident.
