Paper Flower Crafting at Del Ray Artisans

Grown-Ups Art Camp offers over 30 workshops (day, night, weekday, weekend)—for anyone and everyone—scheduled from June 29 through July 17, 2015. Register for as many workshops as you want!

Two different paper flower-making workshops are being offered: “Paper Flower Crafting Fundamentals” and “Grandiose Paper Rose” by Secrets of the Paper Garden instructor Debbie Smith Mezzetta. No previous experience necessary.

Workshop: “Secrets of The Paper Garden: Paper Flower Crafting Fundamentals”
Date: Tuesday, June 30 from 10am-1pm
Instructor: Debbie Smith Mezzetta
Workshop Fee: $35 Del Ray Artisans members / $45 non-members

Class size: 4-8 participants

Unleash your creative ‘green thumb’ in this hands-on paper crafting workshop where you will create a variety of amazing flowers – with paper! You will be guided step-by-step as you learn the basic skills needed to cut, sculpt and assemble luscious papers into stylized or intricate life-like flowers, buds and leaves that are realistic enough to fool Mother Nature. These strikingly beautiful blooms are pollen-free, never wilt and don’t require watering. They are perfect for home and party decorating, topping a pretty package, or substituting for the real thing. You will finish with several flowers to take home along with supplies to make a few more!

Workshop: “Secrets of The Paper Garden: Grandiose Paper Rose”
Date: Tuesday, June 30 from 2-5pm
Instructor: Debbie Smith Mezzetta
Workshop Fee: $50 Del Ray Artisans members / $60 non-members
Plus Supply Fee: $15
Class size: 4-8 participants

In this intensive hands-on workshop, we will be reinterpreting nature by creating a larger than life sized flower: the iconic Rose. Students will be guided step-by-step in cutting, assembling, sculpting and finessing their own show-stopping specimen, complete with petals, center, bud, stamen, calyx, leaves and stem. We will be working with luxurious Italian Crepe Papers, and will be able to choose from an array of gorgeous colors to create an unbelievably realistic, yet extraordinary Rose. This show-stopping flower is beautiful to use for a photo or display prop, an unforgettable gift or even as the flower for the avant garde bride.
