Driver Charged In Alexandria Crash That Hit Pedestrian, Parked Cars
A pedestrian went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the weekend crash.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A driver has been charged in a weekend crash in which a pedestrian and parked cars were hit, according to Alexandria Police.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Four Mile Road in the Arlandria neighborhood. Police say the driver crashed into a pedestrian and numerous parked vehicles. The pedestrian, a 29-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police charged the driver, Luis Antonio Ortiz, 40, of Alexandria, with DUI maiming and DUI second offense. The investigation continues.

Alexandria Police are raising awareness about drunk driving as December typically has more drunk driving-related fatalities than other holiday periods. Police urge residents to plan for a sober ride home when drinking.
