Police Identify Homicide Victim Found in Beverley Park
The man's body was found by a resident out walking Monday morning.

The Alexandria Police Department has released the name of the homicide victim found Monday morning at Beverley Park.

The victim has been identified as Jose Luis Ferman Perez, 24, of Alexandria, according to police. Police did not have any other information to disclose about the young man.
Several media reports said his throat was slashed, and that he was found on the playground at the popular park by a resident at about 8 a.m. The park, referred to as “The Pit,” is located at 620 N. Overlook Dr.

This is the third homicide in Alexandria in 2015.
A neighborhood meeting of the North Ridge Citizens’ Association was already scheduled for Monday night at the Beverley Hills Community United Methodist Church, 3512 Old Dominion Blvd., where police were already expected as well as discussion on renovations at the park.
Chief Earl Cook came to Monday night’s meeting and was also at the crime scene Monday.
