NoVA, DC Weekend: Pride Festivals, Taste Events, KidsFest, Ghost Tour

Events & things to do this weekend, June 3-4, in NoVA, DC: Pride celebrations, community fests, artists studio tour, arts and crafts fair.

VIRGINIA — The first weekend of June brings the start of Pride celebrations and plenty of other events around Northern Virginia and D.C.

One of the highlights is Pride Month, which commemorates the Stonewall riots anniversary, calls for equal rights for LGBTQ+ people, and celebrates LGBTQ+ people.

Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally. A few upcoming Pride events include Capital Pride, Reston Pride and the Loudoun Pride Festival.
