Report: Alexandria Mom was Fatal Victim in Metro Emergency

Mother of two sons took the Metro every day to job in DC for 20 years, NBC-4 reports.

The woman who died after smoke filled the station and metro car at L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station on Tuesday was from Alexandria, according to reports by WUSA-9 and NBC-4.

Carol Glover, 61, was the mother of two and took the metro to work each day for the past 20 years, according to NBC-4’s report. According to her LinkedIn profile, she was a Senior Business Analyst at DKW COMMUNICATIONS, INC. and was a graduate of Drexel University.

She lived on N. Pelham Street off of Taney Avenue in Alexandria.

The Office of the D.C. Medical Examiner has not released cause of death.

The station was evacuated and closed in the mid-afternoon as Metro Police and fire department investigated the issue. Metro activated tunnel fans to ventilate the area. More than 200 passengers were evaluated and dozens were hospitalized.
