UPDATE: Police Seek Information on Tuesday Night Shooting

The injury was a non-life threatening gunshot wound, police said.

UPDATE Wednesday 3 p.m.: The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the shooting that occurred Tuesday night in the 3700 block of Edison Street.

At approximately 8:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots heard in the area of Edison and Mark streets, according to police. When police arrived, they located the victim, a 32 year-old male, suffering from an injury to an extremity, police said. The man was transported to a local hospital. The victim’s injury was identified as a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The Alexandria Police Department was on the scene Tuesday night investigating what appeared to be a shooting in the 3700 block of Edison Street (see map below), they said in an alert sent out at 9:31 p.m. Tuesday.
