Man Charged In Del Ray Bank Robbery

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Police have arrested a suspect in the Nov. 3 robbery of Burke and Herbert Burke & Herbert Bank. No one was injured in the robbery that had police searching for a suspect for more than a week.

Jerry Blake, Jr., 34, of Alexandria was arrested and charged with robbery Tuesday. He is being held without bond.

Police say the robber fled with cash but did not use a weapon. The incident happened in the early afternoon just around the corner Mount Vernon Avenue (in the 300 block of East Monroe Avenue). The suspect was described as a short black man with a medium build and full beard.

The FBI assisted with the investigation and offered a $5,000 reward.
