Taste Of Del Ray 2022 Judges' And People's Choice Winners Named

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The results are in for the Taste of Del Ray,

The Taste of Del Ray was held at individual restaurant locations Friday to Sunday following a VIP event Thursday. Each restaurant could offer one to three food tastes for $5 each.

Participating restaurants competed for the Judges' Choice Award and People's Choice Award. The People's Choice Award was decided by registered attendees, who received an online ballot.

The winners are:

Judges' Choice Award

• First place: Bella Napoli's Lobster Ravioli
• Second place: Matt & Tony's All Day Kitchen + Bar's Cornflake French Toast with Pecan Syrup
• Third place: Pork Barrel BBQ's BBQ Nachos

People's Choice:

First place: Spice Kraft Indian Bistro's Avocado Banana and Beet Chaat
Second place: Bella Napoli's Lobster Ravioli
Third place: Pork Barrel BBQ's BBQ Nachos

Aside from the winning businesses, participating businesses included Sweet Relief (formerly Smallcakes NOVA), Junction Bakery & Bistro, Del Ray Pizzeria, Stomping Ground, Evening Star Cafe, Taqueria Poblano, Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza and Tap, Hops N Shine, Northside 10, Cheesetique and Swing's Coffee Roasters.

This was the 13th year Taste of Del Ray was held. Before, it had been a one-day event with restaurants offering tastes all in one location. The event had been canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19 and changed to the new format at individual restaurants in 2021. Held by the Del Ray Business Association, proceeds from ticket sales help fund neighborhood events throughout the year.
