TCW Junior Named Finalist in Nat Geo Student Photo Contest
Voting Open Thru February 28th
Beck Moniz, a junior at T. C. Williams High School and student of photography teacher Taki Sidley, is a finalist in the 2018 National Geographic Student Photo Contest. "Nevertheless" was taken at this year's Women's March and features Addison Waller, also a T.C. junior.
A panel of judges evaluated each entry according to the following criteria:
- Creativity (30%)
- Photographic quality (30%)
- Composition (30%)
- Execution of theme—the spirit of exploration—through both the photograph and its written description (10%)
The judges selected 28 finalists from more than 5,000 entries. Now it is the people’s choice! Vote once per 24 hours through the end of February:
