Travel Channel to Visit Del Ray Business This Week

Got a hankering for some barbecue? The folks from the Travel Channel’s “BBQ Crawl” sure do. They’ll be visiting Del Ray this week to sample the best of the menu at where else? Pork Barrel BBQ.

Producers from ”BBQ Crawl” will film Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 2312 Mt. Vernon Ave. in Del Ray. The show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. No word yet on when Pork Barrel BBQ will be featured.

Here’s a little about the show, if you haven’t seen it: “Grab a napkin -- you’re gonna need it. BBQ Crawl is a mouth-watering road trip that follows former world champion of pork Danielle Dimovski, aka “Diva Q,” as she eats and competes her way through the American South.”

Diva Q’s motto is “life is too short for bad BBQ.” Here’s more about Dimovski from her Web site: “It doesn’t matter if it’s a one-man shack serving chicken over a hot charcoal-filled barrel on the side of the road or a high-end BBQ joint serving Q off of the latest in BBQ technology. She wants it all and she wants to know the stories behind these BBQ folks.”

Pork Barrel BBQ is ready. They posted this message on their Facebook page: “We’re looking to show Diva Q a great time and prove that you don’t have to be in Kansas City, Texas, Memphis or North Carolina to get great BBQ! Come on down for lunch and be part of the fun!! Who plans to stop by?”
