Tree Falls Onto Home In Alexandria: Police
The resident wasn't hurt when a tree fell onto the home.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—A tree fell onto a home Tuesday in Alexandria, according to police.
The home in the 300 block of Monticello Boulevard had one resident, who wasn't injured. The tree ended up "crushing part of her home," reported NBC4's Julie Carey.

The incident happened as rain continued, leaving the ground saturated. In Southwest DC, officials are grappling with a sinkhole that opened up around numerous vehicles and a Metrobus, Fox5 reported. On Saturday, a tree fell and killed a girl on a hammock in Loudoun County.

Rainy weather could linger through the rest of the work week, although the likelihood of rain decreases in the late week. According to the National Weather Service, the sun is all but guaranteed to return Saturday in Alexandria.
