Del Ray Artisans’ “Under a Summer Sun” Art Exhibit at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter

“Under a Summer Sun” art exhibit opened on May 31, 2015 at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, as a part of Del Ray Artisans’ Gallery Without Walls program, in partnership with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. The animal shelter located at 4101 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22304.

“Under a Summer Sun” begins our second season at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter. After a long, cold winter, Del Ray Artisans invited artists to create artwork depicting summer activities, events and settings using 2-dimensional media and art styles. All artwork on exhibit is available for purchase and immediate possession. Participating artists donate 40 percent of each sale, which will be shared equally by Del Ray Artisans and the Animal Welfare league of Alexandria – both 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

The Vola Lawson Animal Shelter is open to the public for adoptions and viewings during the following hours: weekends from 12-5pm and weekdays from 12-7pm (closed Wednesdays). The shelter is handicapped-accessible.
