Voting Begins On People's Choice Award for Del Ray's Best Decorated Halloween House

The finalists have been announced for the Best Decorated Halloween House in Del Ray. Residents are now invited to vote for their favorite.

DEL RAY, VA — After releasing the addresses of the 10 finalists earlier in the week, the Del Ray community is now letting residents vote on the People's Choice Award for Del Ray's Best Decorated Halloween House.

Before they cast their votes, though, the Del Ray Business Association is encouraging residents to drive or walk by the 10 decorated houses that made it to the finals.

Nominations for best decorated house were due on Oct. 17, and residents were welcome to nominate their own house. The contest is sponsored by the Jen Walker Team.

In the voting process, only one vote is allowed per person. Multiple votes will be deleted.

The deadline to vote is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24. Residents can click on a special form created for the People's Choice Award and vote for their favorite house.

The winner will be announced on the @visitdelray social media channels. The Best Decorated House Contest is part of the 25th Annual Del Ray Halloween Parade festivities.

The addresses for the 10 finalists in the Best Decorated Halloween House contest are:

  • 410 E. Nelson
  • 317 Hume Ave
  • 104 W. Monroe
  • 8 E. Bellefonte
  • 311 A E. Windsor
  • 4 W. Custis
  • 106 E. Del Ray Ave
  • 25 West Mt. Ida
  • 107 West Uhler Terrace
  • 24 Kennedy

The community has provided a map of where the 10 finalists are located.

The Del Ray Halloween Parade is on Sunday, Oct. 24. In-person festivities are back after virtual activities were held in lieu of a parade in 2020.

The parade will be held along Mount Vernon Avenue starting at E. Bellefonte Avenue at 2 p.m. To limit crowding due to COVID-19, attendees are encouraged to register for free through Eventbrite for a parade entrance point.

Due to children under 12 not yet being eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, masks are required for all attendees.
